The community will offer several different types of events. The basic types are:
- Community-Wide Events: These events are organized in direct response to the input from the survey and will accommodate a minimum of 40 people. This includes potlucks, seminars, and workshops.
- Outreach Events: These events are intended to introduce people to yoga. Donation sliding scales will be lower, to encourage attendance. In some instances, the events will be VERY low-cost, with the teachers donating their time and funds going primarily to the cost of the hall.
- Special Needs/Interest Classes: These events tend to meet on a regular basis and tend to be much smaller (10-20 people). They fill special needs, such as a mom's class with childcare, or senior classes. Due to the smaller size, funds from these events will go to pay for the teacher and the hall and expenses only.
- Special Interest Groups: These are small groups within the community that focus on a particular topic that isn't an interest of the wider community or provide more interaction than large events. They will tend to be less formal and have little or no fees involved.
- Community Service Events: These events will try to make a difference in our local or global community, such as visiting nursing homes, beautification (trash removal, plants, paint), helping out at Habitat for Humanity, or working with at-risk children.
